This test run was over 47 Kms from Otahuhu to Avondale and back. The return trip cancels out the effects of hills and flats. The run was through motorway traffic and suburban traffic. Motorway speed was up to 95 KPH averaging around 85KPH.
The result was 26.1 Kms/L which equates to 3.83 L/100Kms.
The test vehicle with the Power Jockey installed was a generation 2 Year 2000 model which has done in excess of 200,000 Kms. No special vehicle service was performed to spruce up performance.
See below table from the 2010 AA Energywise economy run over the north island. Results of our test is compared below. Though this was only over 47 Kms the return trip cancelled effect of terrain. The drive was also at speeds of up to 95Kms which will be more than the average of possibly 80Kph for an economy run.
This shows that the Power Jockey does significantly improve the economy of a standard hybrid vehicle.
