After a battery is fully desulphated, it is considered reconditioned. However a reconditioned battery still may not have the capacity or the cold cranking amps to be useful!! It is only after our batteries are fully tested, that they are considered RESTORED.
Sulphation : Most dead batteries are just sulphated. As lead sulphate on a battery plate crystalises it can no longer take part in the chemical reaction for storing and delivering energy.
Lead sulphate crystallising over the active material on the plates prevents the acid from reacting with the active material underneath.
Our desulphation process uses high frequency pulses to agitate the lead sulphate crystals breaking it’s hard molecular bonds. This changes it to soft sulphate and allow it to take place in the chemical reaction again.
Our desulphation process recovers all the active material still adhering to the plates. The result is that we get a “Restored Battery” that is as good as new. Even though we support our batteries with a six month warranty, they often last 2 or more years. Some batteries have even lasted as much as 5 years.
