Currently the cheapest source of lithium Ion batteries comes from discarded laptop batteries. We restore these cells individually and reconnect them into a battery in series. This series of 4 cells can now be charged with a standard 12 volt charger without the fear of the cells being damage.
These cells are essentially undercharged. This is done deliberately but the system does work. We have trailed the system in a golf trolley. A single overnight charge is enough to get us through 20 – 22 holes. More to come …..
