Prius – Using NHW11 Battery Modules in NHW10

Using Gen 2 Battery modules in Gen 1

Aging Gen 1 Battery Pack
Generation 1 battery modules are no longer available and those currently in use are mostly 14 years or older. Many of these are working only because they are supported by the Power Jockey. What happens when these batteries stop working say in at year 20?

Gen 2 Battery Pack also used in Gen 3

Good News!! We have finally worked out how to use Nhw11 battery modules in the Nhw10 Prius. The whole unit fits inside the original battery enclosure. This ensures that the cooling system operates normally. The good news is that your old Generation 1 Prius can continue to run for as long as you want it to. Cost of conversion is $2500 including installation of the Power Jockey. ( 30/5/2011)

Other battery technologies

Yes we are also looking at cheaper battery technologies that can be used. One option on the horizon is lead acid capacitors. These batteries are the size of the AA batteries and have the storage capacity of lithium.

We do not have franchises in Australia at the moment. However you can have the battery sent to us in NZ. See international customers.
